American Music Awards

Sarah will be presenting an award for the 34th Annual American Music Awards this year. Live telecast is set for November 21st 8pm (ET) on ABC.

Sarah is re-elected!

Sarah Silverman has been elected to be the host of the 2007 Independent Film Awards. This will be Sarah's second consecutive gig as MC for the ceremonies. Ceremonies will take place in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica on Feb. 24, the day before the Academy Awards. Ceremony will air live on the Independent Film Channel. Sarah comments about hosting again saying "I'm pretty sure I'm going to be amazing."

Policeman's Ball

Sarah Silverman made an appearence at the Amnesty International Secret Policeman's Ball which was aired on the 31st October on channel 4 in the UK. It is unknown if it will be repeated or aired in the USA but she does perform some new material as well as the classics although the audience genuinely believed that she was dedicating her performance to her Nana and started applauding? She briefly appears on the the Channel 4 Amnesty site saying her favorite dictator was Hitler.

November Schedule

There are not a lot of appearances or bookings in November for Sarah. However, she will be in Las Vegas on November 18th for two events:

Comic Relief (which will air on HBO at 9pm ET)

Hair High Premiers!

Bill Plimpton's animated gothic comedy Hair High premiered last night at the NYC Pioneer Theatre. The film was made 2 years ago, but before now it was only available at film festivals. The all-star cast includes our very own Sarah Silverman as well as Dermot Mulroney, Beverly D’Angelo, Keith and David Carradine, Ed Begley Jr., along with animation greats Matt Groening and Don Hertzfeldt.

Sarah Silverman will be on the Independent Film Channel (IFC) during the reunion episode of Greg the Bunny Reunion: Fur on the Asphalt. It airs Friday, Sept 8 @ 6:35PM and Sat, Sept 9 @ 7:25AM. Check out the schedule to see other Greg the Bunny episodes in September on IFC.

Sarah Silverman will be working the VMAs!!

Sarah informed me last week that she will be "doing a bunch of stuff" for this year's MTV Video Music Awards. "I'm doing these bits from backstage, then I'll appear onstage as well (not to do stand up, but to present an award or something)." It will air live on MTV on August 31st @ 8pm (hosted by Jack Black).

Schedule Delay for Sarah Silverman Programme

Here is the latest info about The Sarah Silverman Programme which was previously scheduled for this summer on Comedy Central:

THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM (Comedy Central) - Writer/producer Dan Sterling ("King of the Hill") has come aboard the freshman comedy as an executive producer. He'll take over for co-creator/executive producer Dan Harmon, who has left the project over creative reasons. Sterling then will serve along with Silverman and Rob Schrab. Originally set for an August bow, the series has been bumped to a fourth quarter or even an early 2007 start. (Futon Critic)

The Sarah Silverman Program

Comedy Central said Monday it has ordered six episodes of a half-hour series starring Sarah Silverman. The show, tentatively titled "The Sarah Silverman Program," is set to premiere in the summer.

Based on an idea by Silverman, Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab, the series stars Silverman as a character -- also named Sarah Silverman -- whose absurd daily life will be told through an array of scripted comedic scenes and songs.

Sarah Silverman Set for Spirit Awards

Sarah Silverman has been tapped to serve as the M.C. for this year's Independent Spirit Awards, taking place March 4th in Santa Monica, CA. "I'm so happy to be hosting the Independent Spirit Awards!" Silverman said in a statement, "My boyfriend told me to say that I have a very independent spirit." Diana Zahn-Storey is returning to produce the event for the twelfth consecutive year.
